STAR LEVEL TRAINING RESOURCES
The documents below are mainly for instructors to prepare their lessons. Reference material will be provided to your cadet for all lessons they will be taught, and as such no preparation is required on your part unless assigned. For your reference, feel free to browse the Army Cadet Reference Handbook which contains all lessons taught throughout the cadet career.

One of the aims of the Cadet Program is to promote physical fitness in Canada's youth. Aside from promoting good physical health and a healthy lifestyle, the Cadet fitness program helps cadets obtain training opportunities such as going on overseas exchanges and advanced summer training like the Basic Parachutist course. Both peers and Officers offer an encouraging environment to help you achieve the level of fitness you desire, and will always help you do your best. To achieve physical fitness standards, the Corps runs two Army Cadet Fitness Tests (ACFT) every training year, and holds dedicated sports days one Saturday per month.
ACFT Items: 20m Shuttle Run; Push-ups; Sit-ups; Trunk lift; Back saver sit & reach; and shoulder stretch.
SUMMER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Cadets who successfully complete their training year are eligible to attend summer training. DND operates Cadet Training Centre's (CTCs) throughout Canada and offer a wide range of courses and employment opportunities. All cadets who are "on-course" receive a daily Training Incentive pay of $10/day to a maximum of $60/week or $360/course. More senior Cadets who are selected for Staff Cadet positions - that is, senior cadets who make up the staff of the CTC - are eligible of daily pay rates starting at $68 to a maximum of $92 per day, depending on rank at the training centre (not the Corps' rank). The CTC opportunities offer a free experience for the cadet. More information on courses available will be made available at the corps. Once completed, a new section of the webpage will be open dedicated to Summer Training Opportunities.
